Our Team

Dr. D. Rica Wilson

Founder/Executive Director

Dr. D. Rica Wilson, is a mother, strategist and advocate for human rights. As the Executive Director, she manages a diverse portfolio of projects. Dr. Wilson has worked in the nonprofit sector and education arena for over 20 years. As a former public school teacher and university professor, she has held diverse roles at nonprofit organizations and colleges focused on improving the lives of hardworking families, disabled people, and economically disadvantaged communities. As an advocate for human rights and social justice, she continually uses her educational training and life experience to mobilize community-based programs for empowerment.

Wilson graduated from St. Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina with a Bachelor’s degree in English. She has a Master’s Degree in English, with an emphasis in teaching English as a Second Language, from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She holds a doctorate in Ministry with a focus on Pastoral Counseling and a certificate in Complementary and Alternative Medicine. She enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

LaQundra Mighty
Director of Human Resources
LaQundra Mighty is highly skilled in human capital management, executive recruiting, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. As the Director of Human Resources, she plays a vital role in helping the organization meet the needs of diverse communities. The Clark Atlanta graduate and MBA student owns a career boutique consulting firm where she advocates for career equity for women. She enjoys global travel and spending time with her family and friends. 
Dr. T. Joi Preston

Director of Education

Dr. Preston’s career in education has been committed to working with marginalized families and with children who speak English as a second language. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from St. Augustine's University and a Master of Education from Columbia College. Her certification in ESOL and Educational Leadership, is used to champion for youth and families. Dr. Preston earned her EdS in administration from Argosy University, and she holds a doctorate in Christian Education.

In addition to her teaching and educational administration experience, Dr. Preston has served as a director of curriculum and instruction, assessment specialist and consultant for more than a decade. Her goal is to promote and guide best practices in student and adult learning. In her spare time she enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
